This woven blanket is a reproduction from a botanical painting created from herbarium plates, This blanket is a part of a series of botanical paintings that features plants that were discovered on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Each plant was researched and painted from herbarium plates. From these dried plants, Dorothia created accurate watercolor paintings. Through observation, sketches, pencil and brush, patience and expertise, they were created. Laid across a lap or draped over a chair, the blanket unfolds lika a page of natural history—a perfect gift for a history-lover.
