MY INSPIRATION:
As a child, I roamed the mountains near my home in Sunshine Canyon. From that time, nature has been a steadfast inspiration in my life and work.
I inherited my artistic parents' love of art, books and nature and was encouraged to refine my skills as an artist.
I studied fine art, graphic design and illustration at various universities. Ultimately I combined my love of science and art, and earned a degree in Biological and Pre-Medical Illustration from Iowa State University.
As an artist, I've worked in various fields: scientific illustration, animation, graphic design, nature painting, licensing and gift design.

CHILDREN'S BOOKS & AWARDS
After many years, I turned my artistic attention to my strongest, heart-felt passion - making stories and illustrations for children. I have illustrated two children's books:

My work has also been published in Cricket Magazine. I am a member of SCBWI and am the past Illustrator Coordinator and Webmaster for SCBWI-Iowa.
My illustration, ”Firefly Forest,” was the Grand Prize Winner at 2014 SCBWI Bologna Illustrator Gallery, Bologna Book Fair.
That same year, I was selected for the 2014 SCBWI Portfolio Mentorship Award at the SCBWI Summer Conference. My portfolio was one of six chosen out of two-hundred.
My first picture book manuscript "I AM GOOSE" (Clarion) was released on Feb 18, 2020. Illustrated by Vanya Nastanlieva. Here is a link to the trailer and book reviews.
In June 2022, A Wish for Twins was released by Doubleday. It is my debut Author/Illustrator picture book.
